The atmosphere at CHIO Aachen reached its peak on Sunday as Martin Fuchs and his incredible partner Leone Jei finally captured the Rolex Grand Prix, a title that had eluded the Swiss rider for years.

After a flawless first and second round, Fuchs joined ten other top riders in an intense jump-off. With €1.5 million in prize money on the line, the pressure was on. Several big names fell short at the double combination, including Olympic champion Christian Kukuk and fan favorites Richard Vogel and United Touch S, with Richard, of course, being a Laguso rider

Swiss teammate Steve Guerdat briefly took the lead with a fast, clear round, before Fuchs entered the arena determined to make this year his own. With precision, power, and perfectly calculated risks, he and Leone Jei delivered a breathtaking clear in 50.29 seconds, fast enough to hold off the rest of the field and secure the win.

The final challenger, Laura Kraut, opted for a safe round and finished second, followed by Guerdat in third. Brazil’s Stephan de Freitas Barcha delivered a standout performance, claiming fourth in his Aachen Grand Prix debut.

This win marks Fuchs as the first Swiss rider to win the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen since 2004, following in the footsteps of his uncle Markus Fuchs and godfather Willi Melliger. With Spruce Meadows up next, Fuchs now continues his pursuit of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.

CHIO Aachen 2025 closed on a high, with Sports Director Birgit Rosenberg praising the week’s exceptional sport and atmosphere — rain or shine.
